From brake pads, to airbags and fuel pumps. Every part of the car could be counterfeited. For these parts there is no inspection process to ensure they meet safety standards. They put the drivers and everyone around them at risk and harm the brand reputations of carmakers.
Authentic aeroplane parts have known performance histories. Counterfeit parts (estimates go as high as 10%) - whether electronic, mechanical or other - enter the aerospace supply chain and can jeopardize the performance, reliability and safety of aerospace products.
